Generations crew gets artsy while going green with the "Peace up your Pot" Project

Last Monday, July 3rd, The Generations crew got the opportunity to recycle used flower pots by giving each one their own artistic touch and then planting various herbs to take home and enjoy. With donated flower pots left over from various events, and a GENEROUS donation from Pete over at Sharpie, workshop participants were given the chance to decorate their pot to their liking.

Once they finished decorating their pots, Tyrone Maximum gave valuable information on how to plant, and care for, the herb of their choice. After learning what each herb is often used for, students got to plant their choice of Thyme, Basil, Parsley, Oregano and Chives.

This workshop was not only a success because it gave the participants a chance to use their creativity, but it also gave them a valuable lesson on reusing old materials, and enjoying what gifts nature can give with just a little soil, water and sun.

A big thank you goes out to Pete at Sharpie, Tyrone Maximum and Dino Mayorga for making this happen!
